The difference in carat gold refers to the percentage of pure gold it contains.
9 carat gold contains 37.5% pure gold and 62.5% other metals.
14 carat contains 58.5% pure gold.
18 carat contains 75% pure gold.

Yes! Lab diamonds are real diamonds that are physically and chemically identical to naturally mined diamonds.
They are also ethically sourced and a more cost-effective option.
-
Unlike 18 carat gold, 9 carat gold can tarnish due to the higher percentage of the other metals mixed in with the gold alloy. 9 carat rose gold is especially one that will show more obvious discolouring due to the copper mix oxidising with the alloy.
The good news is, this can easily be fixed by soaking your jewellery in lukewarm water with mild soap for 10 minutes and gently scrubbing with a soft bristle brush; then rinsing again and leaving to air dry.
A gold polishing cloth also works really well at cleaning and polishing your jewellery.
